BACKGROUND:

Following the December 2005 meeting of the CCMTA Board of Directors, CRA was mandated to create a project group responsible for investigating emerging in-cab brake monitoring technology for future mandated inclusion into NSC Standard # 13: Trip Inspection.

MANDATE:

1. To gather data and relevant information respecting in-cab technologies for motor coaches and low-bed trailers; and

2. To provide CRA with an environmental scan related to the technology and a recommendation on the future mandating of the technology.
