Police Partnership Award

Police Partnership

Introduced in 2007, the CCMTA Police Partnership Award honours the achievements and service of active individual police officers, or units in developing key relationships with private or government sector agencies involved in highway transportation safety. As a component of Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025: Towards Zero - The Safest Roads in the World, this award encourages the police, road safety partners and the public to “Rethink Road Safety”.

Award Criteria

  • Submissions should reflect achievements and service of active individual police officers, or units in developing key relationships with private or government sector agencies involved in highway transportation safety at the local, regional, provincial/territorial or national level.
  • Submissions should recognize police efforts that build partnerships in support of strategies which reduce injury and death due to road crashes, including the lessons learned and results from those efforts.

Nomination Requirements

Only complete nominations will be considered. This includes:

  • Completed award nomination form.
  • Brief statement citing the accomplishments that make the nominee deserving of this particular award.
    • Nominations should be specific about the achievements for which the award is proposed. Clear, concise information about the accomplishments of the nominee is most useful.
  • Accomplishments should be linked to the objectives and goal within Canada’s Road Safety Strategy 2025: Towards Zero - The Safest Roads in the World, this annual award encourages the police, road safety partners and the public to “Rethink Road Safety”.
  • One or more letters of endorsement should support the nomination.

Recognition

Recipient(s) will be recognized at the CCMTA Annual Meeting.

The award recipient will be notified in advance.

*Travel and accommodation expenses for the person accepting the award is funded by CCMTA .

Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 29, 2019.
